Channeling of the interior and exterior walls for the new air conditioning was causing the whole building to vibrate as you can probably appreciate from the video below. That clip represents about 4” of channeling out of the north wall x that by about 35 feet. Another 15’ on the south wall exterior, and more channeling on the interior at both ends of the building. And of course there wasn’t just the noise to deal with. Channeling into Bermuda sandstone creates quite a nasty dust storm which was being driven directly onto the gallery porch and into the gallery itself. And it didn’t help that the AC guys channeling inside didn’t bother to close the upstairs door either so the interior dust they were creating was also Gallery bound and required a complete gallery wipe down.

The following video is a short clip of the floor scraping going on upstairs. For two days the gallery was filled with the noxious fumes of a penetrating floor stain that seems to have been applied throughout the upstairs apartment and mezzanine. Unfortunately this stain was applied to a waxed and unprepared floor surface, so when it did eventually dry it could be pushed off with the gentle touch of a finger tip. And so had to all be scrapped off. Really not conducive to a nice relaxing gallery visit for my visitors as I’m sure you can also appreciate.

And then this insult appeared on the rope at the bottom of the stairs on Friday.
