Jonny Northcott

Jonny Northcott is one of Bermuda’s most respected and collected ceramic artists with over 30 years of experience at the Wheel. Trained at Harrow College in England, Jonny returned to the island in 1994 and built his first pottery at Belhaven in Devonshire. Here he spent six years honing his skills before traveling to Ethiopia where he worked and lived and met his wife Feven before returning home to Bermuda.

After an artistic sebatical, Jonny has returned to his craft with a renewed vigor and enthusiasm, as is evident in his latest creations. His love for his craft is most evident on kiln firing days as he constantly checks the heat increase to ensure an even flame and plays with the flues to achieve that perfect reduction, creating the unique colours and textures that you will see exhibited in the gallery below.

Jonny’s work has been exhibited in New York and is in the collections of many Bermudians and ceramic fans from around the world. In addition to what is available in the gallery, he will create pieces upon request, on a commission basis. Please email for a consultation:
